The different types of partitions: dry, traditional, or removable
Choose the materials for your partition: wood, cellular concrete, plaster tile
For your partition quotation you have a significant number of materials. They have their pros and cons and offer different aesthetics and performance.
Drywall: Drywall is the most modern and common partition wall. They are made with plasterboard and are hollow. The void inside these plasterboards receives the insulation as well as the technical ducts. These partitions are very efficient and offer the best insulation.
Plaster tiles: Plaster is truly the star of partitions. It is also found in the form of high bricks, tiles, which can form a very solid partition. The con of this system is not providing interior space to conceal the insulation and technical ducts.
The wooden partitions: Wooden partitions offer a very traditional aesthetic, generally in paneling. They do not require special finishes and offer insulation similar to drywall as well as a place for technical ducts.
Cellular concrete partitions: Aerated concrete is found in the same form as plaster tiles. This material is however much lighter, insulating and resistant than plaster. These highly-technical partitions are not yet widely used in traditional construction.
Glass partitions: Finally, if your quote needs to pass light through a partition, you can use glass bricks. Partitions of this type are transparent but only offer a poor technical performance.
Choose your system for your partition
There are generally two types of partitions: partition walls to create rooms and lining partitions.
Partition walls: To create rooms inside a house, partitions are most often used instead of solid walls. These partitions can be wood, or plaster, but are most often drywall. Indeed, this method provides excellent insulation to rooms, while providing a smooth surface that can receive paint, wallpaper, tiles (bathrooms) or plaster.
The doubling partitions: The doubling partitions intervene in a doubling of the walls of the house. Indeed, rough walls generally offer no insulation and are not suitable for receiving an aesthetic facing. Most often, hollow partitions or wooden partitions are used. These partitions can thus receive sufficient insulation and offer any facing.
Also note that the rooms must have a ceiling. The ceiling is usually made in the same way as drywall but can also implement 100% sealing solutions.
